The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre unveiled a freshly restored exhibit on November 18. After several months of restoration work, the museum is offering the public a firsthand look at the restored Hot Copper Car #5, formerly in operation with INCO (Now Vale). "It was great to see so many groups step up and help us stretch the budget for this project," said Cody Cacciotti, operations manager of the museum. "We have the best volunteers in the world and the project would not have been possible without the donation from Atlas Copco. It's a really great day for the museum."

It is part of Sudbury’s mining history and now that process has changed with technology, mining rail cars are no longer needed for this. Car#5 use to carry hot metals such as gold and silver across our local train tracks to a different location for further processing. This museum in Capreol is special to the community and beyond as it preserves our local heritage from restoring train cars, old fire trucks etc…anything directly related to our history”. Said Sylvie Dumas, Business Controller Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Technique Canada
